Pass on Plants

This is a project me and Edie are doing..

All gardeners have extra plants

Maybe you don’t want it any more, maybe it self-seeded, maybe you’ve got a few too many seedlings, maybe it’s too big…

Don’t kill your plants! Pass them on to your neighbours!

Put them out in pots and let the people in your neighbourhood take them. Encourage them to grow them and…

Maybe they will pass plants on too

If you put out 4 spare plants, and next year, everyone who got a plant puts out 4 spare plants and next year, everyone who got one of those puts out 4 plants…

Everyone gets a lot of plants! Everyone is happy!

You’re happy because you did a good thing! Your neighbours are happy because they got a free plant! The bees and butterflies are happy because there are loads of plants in your neighbourhood! Everyone in your neighbourhood is happy because there are beautiful flowers and lots of nature.

This is Edie at the school fair, so it’s not the same thing, but we grew lots of these to sell …
This year, we’ll pass them on instead.

  • 2 x bears’ breeches
  • 1x campanula
  • 1 x epimedium
  • 4 x hens and chickens
  • 1 x ivy
  • 4 x lemon balm
  • 4 x mint
  • 2 x passion flowers
  • 3 x pulmonaria
  • 6 x strawberries
  • 10 x 4 o’ clock flowers
  • 6 x big white daisies
  • 1 x fuchsia
  • 1 x majoram
  • Red poppy seeds x 10 packs
  • Corncockle seeds x 4 packs

I’ve given spare plants to the Red Cross. This is not to swank about how much I’ve given away but to track what I can produce in a year….

  • 1 x sea holly
  • 5 x majorams
  • 3 x salad burnet
  • 3 x those big white daisies
  • 6 x chard
  • and 10 broccoli – given to me by Sian
